Digital Evidence Investigator

The Digital Evidence Investigator Training Course

Cyber Crime Training

Computers and other digital devices are increasingly being relied upon in criminal & civil investigations. Evidence from these devices when collected, analysed & presented correctly can enhance any case. This course provides the basis for professionals in law enforcement & the private sector to gain a firm grounding in dealing with digital devices.

Written by the same author who brought the Core Skills in Data Recovery & Analysis (CSDRA) course to law enforcement in the UK in 2002, it has been completely rewritten to reflect changes in technology since then. The course will cover many aspects of computing that are fundamental to being able to bring a case to a court room, including search & seizure, continuity, principles & protocols, imaging & hashing, how data is stored, partitions & formatting, common file systems, times & dates, registry, internet artefacts, anti-forensic tools, live forensics as well as reporting & presenting digital evidence.

The course is taught by two practicing forensic computing professionals to ensure maximum learning for our students.  Both have extensive practical experience as well as having trained in this area in the UK and abroad.   The course can be trained either in a pre-organised training venue or at our client’s own venue.  Previously we have trained this course or parts of it in a number of organisations and countries.

This is a five day intensive course involving practice & theory – and is assessed.
